Reviews of the 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid
-
CNET Review
The Good: The full hybrid power train remains the star of the tech show in the 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid, while our earlier reservations about build quality have been tempered. The hybrid Escape's price has gone down for 2007, making it a better value relative to the V-6-powered version.
The Bad: The navigation system is CD-based, and the car's audio CD changer is mounted under the passenger seat. The interface for navigation and audio is seriously marred by the tiny screen and small joystick/button controller.
The Bottom Line: With this hybrid's price falling, it becomes a solid proposition in an all-around city driver. Sized well and easy to drive, the Escape Hybrid is a useful, advanced vehicle let down a bit by its amenities. Prospective buyers might want to wait for the next model year, which should see an overall upgrade.
