The Good: Although the 2008 Lexus IS-F has a rip-roaring engine, it delivers good fuel economy and has a decent emissions rating for a car in its class. Handling is very controlled, due to its collection of road-holding gear. The stereo produces excellent sound.
The Bad: The IS-F has all the right cabin gear, but the navigation system, in particular, is old hat--lacking traffic, text-to-speech, or a hard drive. Likewise, audio sources are limited to CD, radio, and an auxiliary jack.
The Bottom Line: The 2008 Lexus IS-F, with its powerful engine and superior handling, is fully track capable, yet feels like a typical sport luxury car during normal driving. Cabin tech is in need of an update.
