    The Good: Adds a quad-core processor to the Nvidia GeForce 9800 graphics; inexpensive for a gaming laptop.

    The Bad: Unforgivably low screen resolution isn't ideal for gaming or HD video.

    The Bottom Line: The latest version of our favorite budget gaming laptop, the Gateway P-7808u FX edition, adds an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU. It's a great deal, partially undone by a sub-HD display.
