    CNET Review

    September 11, 2006

The Good: Provides a trove of expert information; works with Macs and PCs; offers free monthly updates; includes interactive articles; has rich resources for children and adults; has a new interface; maintains a Homework Helpdesk; includes online component and great, Web-based GeoAnalyzer for comparing international trends.

The Bad: The Elementary resources in Encyclopedia Britannica 2007 may fail to interest very young children; navigation could be more elegant at times; Britannica still doesn't integrate historical data well with recent events.

The Bottom Line: The latest digital edition of this trusted reference source emphasizes information over infotainment and is much better than its predecessor.
