    CNET Review

    May 21, 2003

The Good: Great resolution; comfortable design; solid construction; supports up- and down-conversion for a variety of display options.

The Bad: Low-resolution viewfinder; lacks professional controls usually available for the price; mediocre color and latitude; few editing options; limited zoom range.

The Bottom Line: As the only single-chip consumer high-def camcorder, the JVC GR-HD1 is the ultimate for amateur videographers with HDTVs. But pros should look for an HD camera with more advanced features.
