Reviews of the 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8
-
CNET Review
The Good: The 2009 Dodge Challenger features a surprising amount of well-executed tech for what's ostensibly a Detroit muscle car. The 6.1-liter HEMI offers plenty of grunt. In the turns, the Challenger handles better than most muscle cars we've driven. Performance meters in the instrument clusters track acceleration and grip.
The Bad: Cheap interior materials are the Challenger's weak point; they vibrate harshly when the stereo is turned up. The lack of a speech button on the steering wheel all but nullifies the convenience of the voice command. Low fuel economy and high gas-guzzler tax make owning the Challenger costly.
The Bottom Line: The 2009 Dodge Challenger is truly a muscle car for the 21st century, with the power and the technology to back it up; we only wish the interior matched the price tag.
