The Good: With its Direct Shift Gearbox and fine handling, the 2007 Volkswagen GTI makes for incredibly fun driving. The stereo puts out pretty good audio quality, as well.
The Bad: The navigation system uses a very slow processor, which takes too much time to draw maps, leading to missed turns during route guidance. With the navigation option present, the stereo can't play MP3 CDs, and it doesn't get an auxiliary audio input.
The Bottom Line: Without many of the options our test car came loaded with, the 2007 Volkswagen GTI represents a very sporty car for a great price. But the added expense and the inferior cabin electronics drag the car down.
