    CNET Review

    December 20, 2006

The Good: The all-new 2007 Volkswagen Eos carries the VW torch admirably, with a whizbang but useful retractable roof, top-notch build quality, and an enjoyable Direct Shift Gearbox.

The Bad: Straight-line acceleration in the Eos is hampered by poor traction, despite standard slip control. The underpowered navigation system somehow renders the CD changer unable to read MP3 discs.

The Bottom Line: The 2007 Volkswagen Eos is nudging into Audi territory in terms of features and quality, but with a price to match. Average cabin tech and odd performance characteristics suggest people will buy this car more for looks than driving fun.
