The Good: The ABS Ultimate X Striker Elite desktop comes with Intel's new Core 2 Extreme QX6800 quad-core CPU; new case provides plenty of ventilation and port accessibility without looking overly gaudy; Blu-ray burner; room to add another GeForce 8800 GTX card.
The Bad: Doesn't include the bells and whistles featured on the ABS Web site if you choose the wrong motherboard.
The Bottom Line: We'd give ABS credit for the innovative, tinker-friendly case lighting advertised on its site, except that this model doesn't have it. For that, you need to order it with a special motherboard. That MIA feature aside, we like this gaming system for its bang-for-the-buck, tidy design, and overall robust set of features. Just get ready to spend a little.
