Review Summary Canon's affordable, compact ZR200 performs beautifully when the lights are bright, but you're probably better off with its less expensive sibling, the ZR100. Canon's bargain-basement camcorder provides home-moviemakers with the tools to shoot surprisingly high-quality video, but good lighting is essential. If you're looking for a competent, compact MiniDV camcorder, this is it--but smart buyers will drop $50 more on the ZR400. This affordable MiniDV camera offers a good range of home-video-oriented features, as well as comfortable, smooth operation, but its video quality doesn't rise above average.
