Review Summary Though the affordable price tag and text-to-speech functionality are nice, the Navigon 2100's sluggish performance and roundabout route recalculations are a turnoff; you can get a better entry-level portable navigation device in the Mio C230. The new Navigon 2100 Max features some nice additions, including a larger screen and advanced lane guidance, but the portable navigation device is still tripped up by sluggish performance. As entry-level GPS navigators go, the Garmin Nuvi 255W is still one of the best choices available for anyone who wants speedy performance without breaking the bank. The Navigon 5100 offers drivers a number of useful navigation tools beyond basic driving directions; we just wish it had a larger screen and a slightly lower price tag. With an improved display and the addition of text-to-speech functionality, the Mio DigiWalker C230 is a solid and affordable entry-level portable navigation system for GPS newbies.
