Yamaha RX-V1700
Editors' rating
Very good
7.7
out of 10
- The good: HDMI switching for two sources; upconverts all analog signals to the HDMI output; eight digital audio inputs; XM-Ready with Neural Surround; optional iPod dock; can handle second and third rooms with independent sources.
- The bad: Only two HDMI inputs; subpar analog-to-HDMI upconversion; expensive compared to the competition.
- The bottom line: The Yamaha RX-V1700 is a mostly solid A/V receiver with an attractive feature package and excellent sound, but you might be able to find a better overall value.
