    CNET Review

    November 12, 2007

The Good: Windows Live apps display streamlined interfaces; tie-ins to other Windows Live services feel convenient, not cloying; Windows Live Mail and Photo Gallery work with third-party services, such as Gmail and Flickr; mobile tie-ins; live tech support is free online.

The Bad: Downloading Windows Live apps changes browser settings by default; most features require Internet connectivity; some features behaved erratically.

The Bottom Line: We like the cohesive look and feel as well as useful functionality offered by the free Windows Live apps.
