Some time ago, I told you about a way to bring the Web with you on your laptop. But you don't necessarily need a laptop to browse the Web when you leave the office: You can also use your PDA.

If I want to catch up on current events during my commute, I sync up my PDA with my home or work computer before I leave, then use an offline Web browser on the train. That way I can read the news and see what the stock market looks like, even when I'm away from an Internet connection.

Here are my three favorite programs for offline browsing on my PDA.

WebCopier (Pocket PC) works great with its desktop counterpart. It also lets you scale down Web sites for optimal viewing on your Pocket PC's screen. (Shareware/Pocket PC)

Plucker lets you view Web content offline and read e-books. This one is my favorite when I want to bring the Web with me on my Palm, because it offers a great interface for navigating around Web pages. (Free/Palm)

AvantGo Mobile Internet Service also lets you take the Web with you on your Palm. It offers tons of channels to choose from, so you can find content that suits your needs. In addition, the desktop component works for both PC and Mac users. (Shareware/Palm)

If you're not at home or the office, you can still bring your favorite Web sites with you. Make your commute more enjoyable with one of these apps.

What do you think? How do you handle offline browsing? TalkBack to me!
