The long-lasting bulb of the 61-inch Panasonic PT-61LCZ70 rear-projection HDTV is a bright idea, but doesn't outweigh its picture-quality problems.

Mitsubishi WD-65734
Its performance isn't the best among rear-projection HDTVs, but the Mitsubishi WD-65734's excellent feature set and highly adjustable picture help make up the difference.

Samsung HL-T5687S
Although we couldn't quite ignore its uneven screen uniformity, the Samsung HL-T5687S still makes a compelling alternative to flat-screen wallet-busters at this size.

JVC HD-58S998
Although it had a hard time keeping a straight line, the JVC HD-58S998 gives solid picture quality from an ultraslim cabinet.
