Find TVs by cabinet size

Do you fit your new HDTV into a preexisting space, or rearrange your room around the TV?

For a lot of prospective TV owners, one of the biggest criteria for choosing a TV is whether or not it will fit into their "TV space"--atop the stand, in an entertainment center or an armoire, or mounted on a preestablished section of the wall between the fireplace and the window. The tools below will let you narrow your TV choices to only those that'll fit in a predetermined width, height, or depth. (You can further narrow your choices by price, manufacturer, and technology type on the subsequent page--all while remaining within the original size variable you've set.)

If you're mounting the set inside an entertainment center, be sure it fits in every dimension. Also, leave an inch or two on all sides so that the TV has enough ventilation. If you're getting a bigger set, you may want to consider a dedicated stand; many TV makers sell matching stands that increase the aesthetic appeal of their hefty boxes.

Note: While CNET makes an effort to present the most accurate data possible, we can't be held responsible for errors. For instance, note that the heights and depths presented (especially for flat-panel plasma and LCD TVs) may or may not include the stand and/or detachable speakers. Before making a purchase decision based on dimensions--especially in an area with a tight fit--please double-check the product's size with the manufacturer.

Choose the one dimension most critical to your space needs (width, height, or depth), your aspect ratio of choice (4:3/standard or 16:9/wide-screen), and click the Go button.
