FPU
floating-point unit The FPU is a secondary processor (in addition to the CPU) that some computers use to handle floating-point math, commonly encountered when processing graphics applications. Once called a numeric (or math) coprocessor, the FPU can be either a separate chip, or it can be integrated into the CPU.
