Fibre Channel 
A networking technology originally designed to join servers with storage devices as part of a system called storage-area networks, or SANs, and more recently used with Gigabit Ethernet. This technology currently has a top throughput of 10 gigabits per second (Gbps). Fibre channel works with fiber-optic cable, coaxial cable, and twisted-pair telephone line.
