Blue Book
The informal name for the document that specifies standards for the Enhanced CD format, developed in 1995 from a supplement to Philips and Sony's Recordable CD Standard (Orange Book). Discs created using Blue Book standards play audio in any CD player, and they also contain extra data that can be accessed via CD-ROM drives. They are pressed multisession discs, meaning that they are not recordable once initially created.
